Dearborn, MO– The Dearborn Community Betterment Committee, together with Switch Track Mall, have been working on a project to proclaim the City of Dearborn a Purple Heart City.
This proclamation will be made on April 20, 2019 during the Veteran’s Tribute Day events in Dearborn. These special events will take place from 11 am to 3 pm at Switch Track Mall (201 Main St.). A meal will be served from 11:30 am until 3 pm (pulled pork , baked beans, french fries, and cole slaw or mac and cheese for $8; $2 for dessert). A “Steel and Wheels” Parade will take place at 1 pm. Anyone can be in the parade. If you’d like to participate, or if you would like to recognize someone for their service, please contact Breanna Cheadle.
The Committee would like to purchase “Purple Heart City” signs from MODOT, which can be purchased to place at each city limit (4 signs) for $100 each. If you would like to donate specifically towards this purchase of Purple Heart City signs, please contact the Chamber (firstname.lastname@example.org), or speak to Breanna Cheadle or Elaine Greer.
The Edgerton Community Betterment Committee is also working to make Edgerton a Purple Heart City. The ceremony for Edgerton will take place later in the year.
